In August when the city is almost devoid of concerts because all the main music festivals are in seaside towns hundreds of kilometres from the Catalan capital, we can be thankful that somebody is bold enough to organise an event like the Mas i Mas Festival.
The organisers are also the ones behind some of the city’s iconic venues such as Jamboree, Tarantos and Moog, which are normally home to sessions of jazz, flamenco and electronic music. These are the same three themes of the Mas i Mas Festival, which also includes 30-minute performances in the Muhba museum and in the Palau de la Música.
After the inaugural concert featuring the legendary British band Level 42 at the end of July, in August there will be performances from artists such as the Benny Golson Quartet (Saturday 4th), Paulinho Lemos (Tuesday 7th), the Jon Cowherd Mercy Project (Tuesday 14th), Funk D’Void (Friday 24th) and the Noah Preminger Quartet (Saturday 25).
