This is a city park located on a 121-metres slope.
In 1926, it was included in Barcelona’s network of green areas, but the project didn’t become a reality until 1940 when the private land was sold to the city. It’s also known by the name of “Turó del Sr. Gil” (Mr. Gil’s Turó) in memory of its old owner.
It is located next to some of the city’s most central streets, but once you are in the park, the long row of trees that separates it from the houses gives you the impression of being in an isolated place.
The slope of the park is covered with a series of paths that make their way to the top of the hill, where you can take in beautiful views of Barcelona. It is a lush area in the middle of abundant vegetation. The trees from the old private property have been preserved, so from time to time you will come across very tall species.
Open from 10:00 until nightfall, the park is located between carrer Gualbes (main entrance), carrer Montecassino, and carrer Copèrnic, and plaça Boston and carrer d’Hercegovina
