After the success of the first edition, Barcelona’s City Council has once again made plans for an ice-skating rink in the very central Plaça Catalunya, in the best New York style. Barcelona residents and tourists are invited to glide over the ice until after the Christmas holidays, the more expert skaters showing off with pirouettes while the less experienced try not to fall on the cold ground, or simply watch from the café. But that’s not the only rink in the city.
There are also similar facilities in the Pedralbes Centre shopping center (www.pedralbescentre.com), and two permanent locales: the Skating Club (www.skatingclub.cat) and FC Barcelona’s ice rink (www.fcbarcelona.com).
