Messi, Xavi, Iniesta and the rest of Barcelona’s stars will play three games in December at their stadium, Camp Nou. If you’re a football fan and you’ll be in town on the game days, you’d do well to buy a ticket to have bragging rights at having seen the best team in the world. The month starts out with the team facing one of the Spanish league’s classic teams, Athletic Bilbao (Saturday, December 1st, 20:00. € 46-139), a team that is still able to survive in such tough and global competition as the Spanish league while bucking the trend of hiring foreign players. Four days later, Camp Nou will be the scene of a new Champions game. The “culés” will face the Portuguese Benfica (Wednesday the 5th, 20:45. € 46-139) knowing that they’re guaranteed to get to the next European round. The third home game is against another Spanish league classic, Atlético de Madrid (Sunday the 16th, time to be determined). If you extend your stay in the city until the end of the Christmas holidays, on Sunday, January 6th you can see the always-exciting derby against RCD Espanyol (€ 57-153).
