The Aeri del Port
From the hill of Montjuïc you can hover over Barcelona’s port aboard a cable car. In 1926, in preparation for the 1929 Barcelona International Exposition, the idea was conceived to build a cable car linking the hill of Montjuïc with the port. The line is supported by two large metallic towers, –Sant Sebastià tower and Jaume I tower– and after being entirely renovated, it allows passengers to observe all of the port’s traffic from the air, as well as a good portion of the city’s seafront façade.

Appearing like an island in the middle of the port this is a place for shopping, taking a pleasant stroll, having a drink, and enjoying a perspective of the city from the sea.Thereareotherleisureattractionssuchasthe Aquarium or the IMAX Port Vell 3D cinema. Above all, Maremagnum is an open terraced space to enjoy at the centre of the port, and can only be reached two ways: via the wooden walkway from the Christopher Columbus Monument and the Rambla, and from the other end of Passeig de Colom near the Palau del Mar. It is a good vantage point from which to survey maritime traffic, made up of the modern yachts from the marina and the comings and goings of the Golondrinas that tour the port. Of the many establishments offering food, bar Tapa Tapa is particularly recommendable for the quality of its food and for its setting with an extensive terrace overlooking the sea.
